Victoria senior shaken after purse snatching

A 90-year-old Victoria woman was robbed of her purse in the 800-block of View St. on Saturday night.Around 9:15 p.m., a man ripped the purse from the woman’s arms and then ran down Blanshard Street, said VicPD Const. Mike Russell.The woman was not injured, but obviously shaken, he added.The suspect is described as a young man with a slim build, wearing a grey or tan winter parka with the hood up.VicPD searched the area with a K-9 unit but could not locate the suspect or discarded property.Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the VicPD non-emergency line at 250-995-7654 or report anonymously at Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
