Police seized an estimated $270,000 worth of fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine after executing a search warrant in Victoria last week.

In December, police began an investigation into drug traffickers who were operating in Victoria and who, according to VicPD, have ties to Lower Mainland gang activity.

The investigation led to a suite in a multi-unit residential building in the 1100-block of Fort Street, where multiple police units executed a search warrant on Jan. 27.

Officers found and seized more than one kilogram of fentanyl and significant quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine – with the three drugs found totalling 2.5 kilograms.

One man was arrested onsite and later released pending further investigation; police are recommending drug trafficking charges be laid.

Anyone with other information that could relate to this investigation is asked to contact VicPD at 250-995-7654, ext. 1, or report what they know anonymously to Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
