Victoria man pleads guilty to assaulting woman on Oak Bay street

A 42-year-old Victoria resident pled guilty to assault causing bodily harm

On Oct. 31, Kelvin John Dick, a 42-year-old Victoria resident pled guilty to assault causing bodily harm.

In the afternoon of May 9, Oak Bay Police responded to a report that Dick was assaulting a woman in the 1200 block of Newport Ave.

Dick pushed his 40-year-old girlfriend over the trunk of a car and was punching her and pulling her hair. Witnesses driving by approached the scene and honked which caused him to run from the area.

He was located a short distance from the scene where he was arrested.

Dick received one day in jail and 12 months probation.
