A pedestrian has died for their injuries after a collision with a vehicle at Gorge Road and Harriet Street Friday evening.

Victoria and Saanich police officers and the Integrated Road Safety Unit responded to scene just after 5:30 p.m.

At 8 p.m., the area was still closed off to traffic while officers continued their investigation. VicPD released a statement at that time, saying that they would be on scene for several more hours and people should continue to avoid the area.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision and have not yet spoken to officers to call their non-emergency line at 250-995-7654, extension 1.
