North Saanich residents can express their priorities and preferences prior to upcoming municipal budget discussions, through a survey closing on Feb. 7.

Community input from the survey will be shared publicly in a summary in late February and used by North Saanich’s budget committee, which is scheduled to begin budget deliberations on March 10.

North Saanich’s 2022 budget project page also includes significant background information including key dates, the steps required to build a budget, the budgeting cycle, previous financial plans (including municipal operating and capital expenditures and tax rates) and the role of Canada-B.C. Safe Restart funds in addressing the impacts of COVID-19.

The survey can be accessed online at connectnorthsaanich.ca/2022-budget, and paper copies of the survey are also available at municipal hall. Completing the survey takes approximately 15 minutes.

The district expects to release a draft budget in mid-February following a strategic planning meeting involving council and staff.
