Two men arrested following Sooke McDonald’s robbery attempt

RCMP have arrested two men in connection to a robbery at the McDonald’s restaurant in Sooke that occurred last February.

Nathan Williams, 22, and Jordon Tynes, 20, both from Sooke, appeared in provincial court Thursday charged with forcible confinement, robbery, and wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Both men were released on bail. Their next court appearance is Dec. 13.

On Feb. 18, police were called to McDonald’s at 2:30 a.m. after two men wearing masks forced the lone employee into a walk-in cooler and tried to break into a safe, but were unsuccessful.

The two fled on foot.

Police say no weapons were involved and the employee was not hurt.
