Athlone Travel has started a travel book exchange in its office at 104-2187 Oak Bay Ave.
“Destination guides don’t really age,” says Athlone Travel owner Elizabeth Smith. “The Eiffel Tower is there and it’s not moving.”
With the expense of purchasing travel books on the increase, the impetus to recycle, along with the number of their clients looking for extra travel information, Smith decided to start the travel book exchange.
“People in our office had a few books kicking around that they would lend to clients and we thought we’d ask clients to bring in their old books, pick up a new one and keep it rolling.”
Their library is limited at this time, so if you have any unwanted travel books you would like to donate, drop by their office and help Athlone Travel fill its bookcase.
