A notice on the door of The Guild restaurant on Victoria’s waterfront hints at the reasons for the locked doors and dark interior at a time when it should be open.

The notice, dated March 7 and signed by counsel for the landlord, calls for all keys and security cards for the restaurant at 1250 Wharf St. to be immediately delivered to the landlord.

It also states, “…the lease interest accrues on all overdue money payable pursuant to the lease at the rate of 18 per cent per year.”

The same restaurant was shut down suddenly in August 2018 with a termination notice on the door, only to re-open a short time later.

Black Press reached out the the counsel for the landlord, but has not yet received a reply.
