Tea Party scuffle suspects sentenced

Pair of teens found guilty

Two teens who attempted to steal a wallet and maced their victim during last year’s Oak Bay Tea Party were found guilty last week.

The pair, who were both 15 years old at the time, received court imposed 12-month sentences of intensive support, and one year of probation with strict conditions.

On June 2, 2012, around 2 p.m. Oak Bay Police responded to an armed robbery in the 2400-block of Beach Dr. where a group of Asian home-stay students were approached by a pair of teens. One youth grabbed a home-stay student and stole his wallet.

The wallet owner and his friend fought back, and they were maced.
