Stranger approaches young girl in Henderson

Oak Bay Police investigate after girl approached in Henderson

Oak Bay police are investigating after a girl was approached on Henderson Road yesterday (June 9).

Shortly before 5:30 p.m. last evening, a nine-year-old girl reported she was approached by an unknown man in the Henderson Road area, near Townley Street, say Oak Bay Police.

The man stopped the car beside her calling to her through the open passenger window. The man asked the complainant to come over to his vehicle, as he wanted to show her something. The complainant went home and told her mother, who called police.

The man is described as a clean-shaven caucasian man wearing tan or beige short pants, a dark grey shirt with faded black horizontal stripes and a blue baseball cap. The cap had a green brim and a blue bee on the front, outlined in white. The vehicle is described as a newer, clean, two-door silver car, with a black leather interior, centre console and shifter, white licence plate with green at the top, and an “N” sign to the left of the rear licence plate.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Oak Bay Police Department at 250-592-2424.
