According to Oak Bay Police, it didn’t take long for one of their officers to issue six speeding tickets in a school zone.
Deputy Chief Ray Bernoties says five of the six vehicles stopped along McNeil Avenue had car seats in them.
It didn't take long on McNeil for an #oakbay member to issue these tickets y'day. Interestingly, almost every speeding vehicle had a car seat in it. 😕 pic.twitter.com/1eYTx0CWRQ

When asked if Oak Bay officers often find car seats in the backseats of vehicles they pull over, Bernoties said it’s “far too common.”
“It’s more comfortable to believe that others are speeding through our community, but that’s not always the case.”
Bernoties added that Oak Bay Police officers frequently conduct speed enforcement in local school zones.
