Oak Bay Lodge open house set

Info session allows the public to voice concerns, kudos with proposed design for new facility

A date for an open house on the redevelopment of Oak Bay Lodge has been set.

Baptist Housing, the group proposing to run the new facility, will host the information session this Saturday (Sept. 17) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Marion Gardens, 1976 Bee St.

The event is an opportunity for members of the community to have their say on the proposed design of the new 320-bed lodge, which would be built on the site of the current facility.

Representatives from Baptist Housing, the Capital Regional Hospital District and the Vancouver Island Health Authority will be on hand to answer questions about the development, which would feature dementia care and long-term residential care facilities, but no independent living housing, a feature of the current lodge.
