More bogus bills found by Oak Bay businesses

Oak Bay police field three reports of counterfeit money

Two local businesses turned over counterfeit Canadian $50 dollar bills to Oak Bay police last week.

The first bill was received Aug. 4, while a second $50 bill was turned in Aug. 6, police said.

It is not known in either case who passed the currency, or even if they knew the currency was counterfeit.

Oak Bay police had previously reported a $100 counterfeit bill being passed at the Cork & Barrel Liquor Store in Athlone Court July 27.

In that case, police were looking for a female suspect in her 40s in connection with the incident.

She was described as five-foot, five-inches tall, 180 pounds, with long, dark hair and a pock-marked face.
