Heritage plan talks on again

The second town hall meeting for the Oak Bay Heritage Plan is coming up soon.

The second town hall meeting for the Oak Bay Heritage Plan is coming up soon.

On Tuesday, Dec. 4 there will be a discussion about the feedback recieved so far.

Heritage Oak Bay is excited by the quality and extent of the feedback it has received on the community heritage values of Oak Bay, said heritage consultant  Stuart Stark.

One town hall meeting, two focus group sessions and more than 100 online surveys have provided plenty of information to the consultants and the committee, said Stark.

The material is being collated and summarized for presentation so that Oak Bay residents will have the opportunity to hear and comment on what everyone has said about how much they value Oak Bay's unique history.

Heritage features with special values already identified by residents include streetscapes, gardens, trees, heritage homes, neighbourhood preservation, gardens, parks and Oak Bay's lanes.

Heritage awareness and appropriate public process have also been mentioned as ways of preserving Oak Bay's special heritage characteristics.

The public is invited to  come to hear the summary and discuss issues surrounding Oak Bay's heritage values from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Windsor Park Pavilion. Light refreshments will be served.
