Wet enough out there?

Across Greater Victoria, a rainfall warning is in effect from Environment Canada as an intense frontal system has stalled over the Island, expected to spout heavy rain for much of Thursday.

As the system moves on later this evening, the rain will taper to showers.

Nearly 30 millimetres of rain fell across the region last night and an additional 20 to 30 mm is expected throughout today.

Be advised as localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Coastal B.C., Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands are still reeling from storms that brought significant rainfall and heavy winds over the last two weeks of December.

BC Hydro is still working to restore service in some areas and have brought in workers to help from other provinces. At one point, more than 750,000 customers were without power.
