Greater Victoria gas up to 144.9 cents a litre at some stations

Prices still below last year’s average for this time

Gas prices are on the rise across Greater Victoria, with prices as high as 144.9 cents a litre reported by GasBuddy at a Petro-Canada at Shelbourne street and Hillside Avenue.

Reports from Colwood show Petro-Canada and Shell both pricing gas at 144.9 cents a litre – while most regions around Greater Victoria still have an average price of 136.3 cents a litre.

According to GasBuddy, prices are down 4.3 cents from last year’s average of 140.6, but have risen nine cents from last month’s average of 127.3 cents a litre.

The lowest recorded average on this day – in the last 11 years – was in 2009, when gas cost 99.1 cents a litre.
