Fresh sidewalks for Windsor Rd.

Oak Bay public works has received early funding approval to replace and repair sidewalks.

One of the worst stretches in Oak Bay, along Windsor Road, will benefit from $25,000 approved by council ahead of the 2011 budget finalization, which happens in spring.

“Windsor is in pretty tough shape all the way to Victoria Avenue,” said public works superintendent Phil Barnett.

Crews will work on sidewalks in the Transit Road to St. David Street block of Windsor this year, he said. Each year crews fix one block of sidewalks on the tree-lined road.

The total anticipated sidewalk replacement budget for 2011 is $87,000, down slightly from last year.
