As construction continues on the revamped Oak Bay Beach Hotel, details about the landmark’s grand opening plans are starting to trickle in -- and one of the Capital Region’s most famous sons will play a role.
Grammy Award-winner David Foster is expected to be in town next week for an announcement regarding a collaboration between his foundation and the hotel. Details on an expected 10-year partnership between the hotel and the David Foster Foundation, which supports families of children who need organ transplants, will come Aug. 12.
The hotel’s grand opening is scheduled for May 25 to 27, 2012, with a performance by Foster himself at a fundraiser on May 26.
