Crews extinguish structure fire in Colwood

Small shed fire extinguished by View Royal, Colwood departments

Crews responded to a small structure fire in Colwood today.

View Royal and Colwood fire departments were called out between noon and 1 p.m. to respond to reports of a smoking shed at 767 Kanaca Place.

Colwood assistant fire chief Greg Chow said 13 fire fighters were deployed, and the department was able to quickly extinguish the fire without any damage to the nearby residence.

BC Hydro and Fortis BC were called out to inspect the scene.

There were no injuries.
