Burnside Road reopens to traffic following morning crash

Saanich Police say a medical event was behind a single-vehicle crash on Burnside Road near Grange Thursday morning that closed the road to morning school traffic.

The vehicle swerved across Burnside Road not far from Spectrum School and knocked down a traffic sign on the east side of the road before coming to a stop on the west side of the road in the front yard of a home.

Police say incident happened before 8 a.m.

B.C. Ambulance crews carried the driver to hospital. Unconfirmed reports claim the driver received CPR.

The incident closed traffic along the road until 8:45 a.m.
