The open portion of tonight’s council meeting begins at 7 p.m. after an adjournment to in camera that begins at 6 p.m.

First topic of business once open, is adopting the minutes from the last two council meetings that occured on Oct. 16 and 20.

Next will be the Mayor remarks where the Chair will address topics of interest, as determined by the Mayor (or Acting Mayor).

This will be followed by a public participation period, which is an opportunity for members of the public in attendance at the meeting to address Council regarding topics that directly impact the District of Oak Bay, as determined by the Chair. Public comments are not to exceed 3 minutes each.

The Chief Administrative Officer will then present to council the second quarterly report for Council Strategic Priorities 2017-2018. This report reflects the initiatives completed to date and the initiatives still in progress.

Oak Bay Heritage Commissions Minutes will follow.

New business is up next which gives the Chair and members of Council an opportunity to address new items not listed elsewhere on the agenda and to report back to Council on activities by other boards and committees.

The agenda concludes with two resolutions:

  • That Council approve the attendance of Mayor Jensen, at the Chief Elected Officials Forum, to be held in Richmond, BC, December 7 to 8, 2017, and the payment of expenses necessarily incurred by him.
  • That the CRD post-2006 sewer debt costs be allocated in the following manner:

 30% on taxes;

 70% on water consumption;

Where water consumption is calculated at 60% or 100% in accordance with the current practice.
