Celebrate Bowker Creek Saturday

The Community Association of Oak Bay and the Bowker Creek Initiative are hosting the 5th annual Bowker Creek Community Celebration.

Take the Bowker Creek pledge at Fireman’s Park in Oak Bay on June 9.

The Community Association of Oak Bay and the Bowker Creek Initiative are hosting the 5th annual Bowker Creek Community Celebration. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with Mayor Nils Jensen officially opening the event at 11:45 a.m.

Join the Friends of Monteith Indigenous Plant Association, Oak Bay Allotment Gardens, Oak Bay Green Committee, Oak Bay Tourism, Emergency Preparedness and others to share your vision and ideas for a community greenway and watershed restoration. There will be opportunities to learn more about Oak Bay High’s creek restoration project.

The event includes a pennant printing and eco-art workshops, an obstacle race down Bowker Creek, food forest tours and a free draw to win a rain barrel from the CRD.
