A man was arrested last week for walking into a room at Gorge Road hospital and stealing a patient's purse on April 7, at about 5 p.m.
Hospital staff saw the man leaving a room with a bulge under his jacket. He said it was a beer, which he produced and drank, then eventually produced a purse.
Police were called and arrested Weldon Barabanoff, 42, who has a history of thefts and property crime. He was charged with theft and having stolen property.
