One man is in the hospital and another is in custody after what police are calling an altercation in Otter Point Thursday morning.

RCMP have confirmed that a 64-year-old man was transported to the hospital by ambulance paramedics with non-life threatening injuries after being stabbed by a 28-year-old man.

The 28-year-old was arrested in the area for assault with a weapon. He remains in custody.

Sooke RCMP was called to a residence in the 6900-block of Sellars Rd. around 10:15 a.m. when two people were involved in an altercation. RCMP confirm that the two were known to one another and, judging from the police action at the scene, lived across the street from one another.

Police taped off one of the homes at 6910 Sellars Rd. and were speaking to people in the other home, directly across the street.

Police were also seen with what appears to be a metal pipe in an evidence bag.
