2018 local election: hiring, running, voting

The District of Oak Bay is looking to hire election assistants for the upcoming municipal election in October.

The 2018 General Local Election is scheduled to be held on Saturday, October 20 for the offices of Mayor and Municipal Councillors (6).

If you would like to work in the upcoming election, complete the 2018 General Application: Elections Staff form that can be found on the municipal website and send it to the Deputy Chief Election Officer at vmckean@oakbay.ca. Hard copies are also available at municipal hall.

If you are looking to run in the election, nomination packages will be received by the Chief Election Officer between 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 4 and 4 p.m. on Friday, September 14 (excluding statutory holidays and weekends) at the Municipal Hall at 2167 Oak Bay Avenue.

Are you registered to vote? Elections BC’s Online Voter Registration allows you to register as a new voter or update an existing registration in the event of a name or address change.

Advance Voting: Wednesday, October 10 at the Oak Bay Municipal Hall between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Advance Voting: Wednesday, October 17 at Student Union Building, University of Victoria between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m..

Advance Voting: Wednesday, October 17 at the Oak Bay Municipal Hall between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

General Voting Day: Saturday, October 20 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
