An attempt to disable a residential alarm didn’t fare so well for one suspect who faces court in November.

Oak Bay police found a woman in a home that wasn’t her own after responding to a residential alarm in the 2000-block of Lansdowne Road on Oct. 24 around 11 p.m.

Officers arrived to discover someone had smashed a basement window with a rock and cut wires in an apparent bid to disable the alarm system. A woman was arrested inside.

Crown counsel charged Leslie Lampman, 49, with mischief. The woman was held in custody for a bail hearing the following day, then released with a Nov. 4 court date.
