Central Saanich police officer in stable condition after single-vehicle collision

A Central Saanich police officer was involved in a single-vehicle collision in the early hours of Thursday Sept. 12.

A Central Saanich police officer in a marked vehicle was involved in a single-vehicle collision at 00:50 a.m., on Thursday, Sept. 12.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Hovey Road and Wallace Drive. The officer was extracted from the vehicle with the assistance of Central Saanich Fire Department, and is reported to be in a stable condition.

Police said no members of the public were involved and the cause of the collision is being investigated.

"The Central Saanich Police Service are providing all necessary supports for our member, family and colleagues, and hopes for a full recovery," said police in a social media post. "We wish to thank the Central Saanich Fire Department, EHS, Sidney RCMP and Saanich Police Department for their assistance."
