Bear spotted near Saanich’s Colquitz and McKenzie schools

SD61 warns parents to pick up kids

Greater Victoria School District SD61 has placed a ‘Hold & Secure’ on Colquitz Middle and McKenzie Elementary schools after a reported bear sighting in the Saanich neighborhood.

“Parents and guardians are asked to please pick their students up at the school,” says the school district in a tweet.

SD61 says school staff will remain on site until all students are safely dismissed.
