All-candidates meeting set for Oak Bay-Gordon Head

Residents can send potential questions ahead of Oct. 5 meeting

The Community Association of Oak Bay hosts an all-candidates meeting for Oak Bay-Gordon Head voters on Oct. 5 at the Monterey Recreation Centre.

In a bid to help voters choose leadership in Oak Bay-Gordon Head during the fall provincial election, the Oak Bay Community Association is hosting an all-candidates meeting.

Three candidates are running for the MLA position: Diana Gibson, NDP: Lisa Gunderson of the BC Green Party; and Stephen Andrew for the Conservatives.

The position is currently held by retiring NDP MLA Murray Rankin.

Paul Haysom moderates the all-candidates meeting, hosted by the Community Association of Oak Bay, on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 2:30 p.m. in the Garry Oak Room of the Monterey Recreation Centre, 1442 Monterey Ave.

Questions for the candidates can be submitted in advance by emailing oakbayconnector@gmail.com.

All candidates will be given the opportunity to answer selected questions. 

Advance voting for the Oct. 19 election runs Oct. 10 to 13 and 15, 16 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Not all advance voting places are open every day of the advance voting period. Visit wheretovote.elections.bc.ca to find sites and the dates they are open.

Residents can cast their ballots at any district electoral office in the province from now until 4 p.m. on general voting day Oct. 19. That day voters can head to a local poll between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with a list of sites online at wheretovote.elections.bc.ca.

Vote-by-mail package requests are available online and by phone until Oct. 13. Elections BC must receive completed packages before 8 p.m. on Oct. 19.
