Police feet on the Malahat Highway and in municipalities where they live will prevent far more deaths than cheapskate approaches like long-interval speed measuring systems that may not be able to identify the aggressive driver weaving in and out of traffic, nor other offenders.

Taxpayers do not want money spent on wastewater trips. It leaves the impression the CRD does not know what they are doing after 20 years of discussion. Let the travelling salesmen bring their promotions to Victoria as they will likely receive a commission.

Re: Deer not native to Gordon Head, letter in the Aug. 16 Saanich News . The letter writer incorrectly states that there were “no deer in the Gordon Head district between the years 1942 and 1969” and that deer are “now an invasive species.”
