Oak Bay raises nearly $4,000 worth of food and cash for Mustard Seed

Annual Island Equipment Owners Association’s Truck Light Convoy raised much-needed donations for local food bank

Each year, the Island Equipment Owners Association’s Truck Light Convoy starts at Ogden Point and winds its way through Victoria, Oak Bay and Saanich before finishing at Western Speedway on the West Shore .

In Oak Bay families and friends gather in the village or along Beach Drive to see the trucks roll through. At municipal hall, where the Oak Bay Business Improvement Association hosts activities, the 2017 haul was impressive for the Mustard Seed food bank.

Residents donated 1,403 pounds of food, which equates to about $3,507.50 worth according to Mustard Seed. The community also collected $1,225.44 in cash.
