The play’s the thing, or it was last week during Monterey centre’s dinner theatre.

After a sumptuous dinner, guests sat back and enjoyed two plays performed by the Monterey Players on May 17. The plays, A Slight Misunderstanding directed by Frank McGilly and The Private Eye directed by Zuzanna Macknight, elicited laughter as the characters found themselves in comic situations.

If you have a yearning to be on stage, or to work backstage, consider joining the Monterey Players. Can’t remember scripts? No problem; some plays are performed with script in hand. The club welcomes new members. It meets Friday mornings from 10 a.m. until noon, September through May, at the Monterey Recreation Centre, 1442 Monterey Ave.
