To promote safe operation of a scooter in a fun environment, Oak Bay village, Oak Bay Police Department, Canada Scooters and BC Transit host a Scooter Rodeo on Wednesday.

Find out in the Scooter Rodeo Speed Test using a police radar gun. Practice boarding a BC Transit Bus and get helpful tips for riding the bus as a scooter operator.
Participants can also test their skills in a scooter obstacle course. The Oak Bay Scooter Rodeo is an opportunity to learn about scooter safety and control in a fun environment focusing on best practices regarding sharing the sidewalk and navigating an urban setting.
Running in conjunction with the Oak Bay Village Night Market, the Oak Bay Scooter Rodeo runs on July 11 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Hampshire Avenue between Oak Bay Avenue and Theatre Lane. People are welcome to bring their own scooters or use ones provided by Canada Scooters. Those who complete the rodeo receive a Mobility Scooter Rodeo certificate of completion.
