Rummaging up success at Monterey centre

Buyers pour through Oak Bay centre to fund local programs

Guest poured through the Monterey Recreation Centre snatching up deals from the rooms full of second hand surprises during the annual rummage sale Feb. 24.

All proceeds support the Monterey Recreation Activity Association. The MRAA is the former Oak Bay Seniors Activities Association, which raises funds for member bursaries, equipment and other extras at the Monterey avenue centre.

As a community recreation centre located in the heart of Oak Bay village, Monterey Recreation Centre offers courses for members and adult non-members including courses offered for adults (19+ unless noted). Monterey members receive a savings of 15 per cent on Monday to Friday daytime courses.

Monterey membership is $45 a year and open to those 50 years and older, from Oak Bay and beyond.
