Saturday, June 16 In-seine sailfins, shrimps and sea slugs are on tap with researchers from the Royal BC Museum as they conduct a beach seine at Willows Beach. As many as 20 species of fish, crabs, shrimps and other invertebrates, will be brought into shore using a large net. Everyone will get an up-close look at what lives in the eelgrass forest beneath the waves. Friends of Uplands Park will provide small nets and containers for you to catch critters. At the end, you can return your collection to the sea. Participation by donation to the Royal BC Museum. Meet at the north end of Willows Beach from noon to 2 p.m. (Ron Carter photo)
