It was business as usual for residents in downtown Victoria Thursday (Dec. 30) despite another fresh sprinkling of snow.
In the city centre, busy employees brandished snow shovels, and bundled-up pedestrians clogged the slushy sidewalks. Some stores remain closed until the new year, but for other businesses it was just a regular Thursday.
Down Government Street, tourists and curious residents gathered around the frozen legislature fountain, marvelled at the waterfront and stopped to listen to buskers perform.
In Beacon Hill Park, winter fun was the name of the game. Families gathered for one last day of sledding before the return of warmer weather.
Environment Canada predicts temperatures will climb above freezing this weekend, with mixed rain and snow in the forecast. So if you’re itching to pull on some snow pants and take part in Victoria’s winter wonderland, the clock is ticking.
