Oak Bay Archives celebrates its first Oak Bay Tea Party this weekend.

They’ll share a tent with the Greater Victoria Public Library where Oak Bay library staff help visitors build buttons and apply for library cards. They may even have a few books to check out.

“We wanted to help the Oak Bay Tea Party celebrate its 55th anniversary,” said Caroline Duncan, Oak Bay archivist. “We’re hoping people will share their stories of the past tea parties with us and we can document them.”

They’re planning a small display of Oak Bay’s past, and promoting the Then and Now community initiative.

“It’s an opportunity for the archives to connect with community,” Duncan said.
