Mark National Volunteer Week at Cattle Point, Uplands Park

Celebrate Earth Week and volunteers with April 12 event

The Friends of Uplands Park and the Greater Victoria Green Team invite locals to celebrate Earth Week and volunteers April 12 at Cattle Point and Uplands Park.

Join a nature ramble through the endangered the Garry oak ecosystem, where several rare plants will be sprouting on Cattle Point.

Learn about challenges for their survival and be part of the solution by helping to remove invasive plants like English ivy, Daphne, carpet burweed and bur chervil. Instruction, tools, gloves and refreshments will be provided.

The event runs from 11:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Meet in the Cattle Point parking lot at the boat ramp.
