A half dozen Oak Bay High students are among those recognized by the Kiwanis Club of Victoria this graduation season.

Misha Hasan, Sophie de Goede, Jack Stanley, Sarah Bjelde, Marissa Louie and Jack Mulcahy were honoured during the 44th annual student recognition luncheon.

The Kiwanis club invites the “best and brightest of the graduating class” from seven area high schoools including Esquimalt, Lambrick Park, Mt. Douglas, Spectrum Community, Victoria and Oak Bay high schools.

Celebrating 44 years this month, the lunch was started in 1974 by current member Ray Goldsworthy who hosted the luncheon for 30 years before being taken over by the current host Past President Paul DeGagne.

The club members and school leaders were joined by 70 students from scools in the region to celebrate their contributions to their schools and local and global communities.
