Hidden gems focus of Victoria's Secret bike tour

Cycling coalition encourages riders to stop and smell the roses

The Capital Region is a cycling paradise, but there are still plenty of great places to pedal that are largely unknown to much of the two-wheeled set.

The Greater Victoria Cycling Coalition wants to change that, and has planned the Victoria's Secrets Tour. The 20-kilometre ride will take participants on a route that includes some of the area's hidden jewels.

The event begins at the Centennial Square fountain in Victoria at 10 a.m. this Sunday (Sept. 18) and finishes back there at 2 p.m. There will be a stop for lunch and riders are encouraged to pack something to eat.
