The 10th annual Goddess Run, a community event aimed at bringing women and girls together in support of one another, has opened up registration for its June event.

The event is raising money for two charity organizations, Victoria Women’s Transition House and Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre.

Funds are also being raised for Rose O’Neill, a member of the community in need of a new prosthetic.

“While we have been able to keep our Goddess community active and training over the last two years with our virtual series, it will be so amazing to see all the women and girls at the start line this June,” said Cathy Noel, founder and presenting sponsor.

The Goddess Run is set to take place June 4 in Langford and includes 10-kilometre and 5K routes, plus a post-race festival with music, entertainment, games, presentations and other activities.

All scheduled events are pending public health orders in effect at the time.

Since the first Goddess Run in 2012, nearly 13,000 people have participated and $250,000 has been raised for charity partners.
