Ron Carter hopes to have clear skies as he and co-lead Rick Marshall resume the popular one-hour monthly full moon walk series.

Now sponsored by the Community Association of Oak Bay, the walks date back to 2014 when Carter started Embrace the Night walks with residents to allow people to feel safe while enjoying the full moon.

The phase of the moon allows for more light if the clouds cooperate. The walks provided a sense of community and eventually shifted a twilight outing to embrace more walkers.

The latest Embrace the Twilight amble takes walkers from the Oak Bay Marina parking lot to the Native Plant Garden and up through Anderson Hill Park.

Walkers can meet for the free guided walk on Thursday, April 6 (coinciding with the full moon) for a 6 p.m. start near the Salish Sea sculpture at Spewhung/Turkey Head.

Carter reminds folks to dress for the weather as the free, guided walk goes clear skies or no.
