Festival offers ‘bucket list’ tips

The annual Victoria Hospice Bucket List Festival is March 4 and 11 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Wellesley

As people age, ticking things off their “bucket list” becomes a priority. For when time is limited, the Victoria Hospice Bucket List Festival provides useful tips and guidance.

Presented by Victoria Hospice, based at Royal Jubilee Hospital, the annual public education event is March 4 and 11 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Wellesley, 2800 Blanshard St.

The festival’s goal is to help people get the most out of the time that’s left, and aims to be informative, interactive and fun, reminding people that it’s okay to speak openly about end-of-life issues.

March 4 topics include Advance Care Planning; Travelling while Ill; the Gift of Caregiving; and How to Really Talk to Your Doctor. March 11 topics include Symptoms Management; a presentation by Record Me Now; and Holding a Living Wake.

Enjoy entertainment, a visit from a Pacific Animal Therapy Society dog and lots of draw prizes.

Tickets are $8 for two days or $5 for one day and are available online at victoriahospice.org/bucket-list.
