Creative Peace Mural Society is hosting a fundraiser dinner and silent auction on Friday, June 10. The dinner includes a presentation on the group’s exhibit to open in London in 2012.
Led by Oak Bay artist Lily Wallace, the five-member group has led fabric mural workshops in 10 countries. The exhibit will feature murals created in New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Switzerland, Ukraine, Uruguay and Victoria. The mural project has been awarded the Inspire Mark by the Cultural Olympiad for the 2012 Olympic Games.
A silent auction, beginning at 6 p.m. will also be held. Tickets for the dinner, which begins at 6:30 p.m. are $45 and are available at Jennings Florists in Estevan Village or by calling 250-477-9538. Both the dinner and silent auction will be held at Oak Bay recreation centre, 1975 Bee St.
