Duck race highlights work on Bowker Creek

Oak Bay High students spread the word about CRD’s 100-year plan for the creek

Oak Bay High’s Environmental Club hosted a clean up and duck race at Bowker Creek Saturday.

Funds raised went back to the club to continue refurbishing the creek and create a new native plant garden.

Despite the rain, a crowd came out to learn about the creek, the CRD 100-year-plan to daylight the creek, and learn more about watersheds in general. For example, Brian Koval from the Peninsula Streams Society was on hand with the Bowker Creek watershed model that offers a hands-on look.
