People Meeting People turns 35 with a dinner dance Sunday at Monterey.

Victoria’s People Meeting People Club is celebrating 35 years and members past, present and guests are invited to the party! Dress to impress – and enjoy reflections of 31⁄2 decades of dancing (in a photo montage); delicious roast beef dinner (complete with Yorkshire pudding!) and entertainment by The Pulp Mills.

The PMP group formed in 1983 and by 1989 they were holding an event a week and had outgrown the Ukrainian hall in Victoria. As group dynamics changed, different venues included the Esquimalt Legion and Crystal Garden. For nearly two decades now, they’ve worked with Monterey Recreation Centre to host small events twice a month and two big events each year.

They draw members from as far afield as Sooke to Oak Bay locals.

The dinner portion of the evening includes delicious roast beef dinner, Yorkshire pudding and entertainment by The Pulp Mills.

PMP doesn’t have an age restriction for membership.

The event is Sunday, February 25 at 5:30 p.m.Tickets are $24 for members and $28 for non‐members available at the centre, 1442 Monterey Ave.
