Cadboro Bay Beach is tidier thanks to members of three community groups.

On Saturday (April 15) more than 100 members from Royal Victoria Yacht Club, the University of Victoria’s sailing club and Garry Oak Scouts banded together to clean up the beach.

Broken fibreglass, plastics, empty paint cans, old boat engines and even a kitchen sink were just some of the items the crew picked up.

Five vessels, some of which had to be dug out of the sand, were also hauled away.
