Lantzville-based author Lyn Hancock will read from her book The Ring, at the Oak Bay library, 1442 Monterey Ave. on Saturday, May 7.
Hancock will discuss the story of Calgary pioneer Sam Livingstone and his wife, Jane. The Ring is a republication of the book, Tell Me, Grandmother, originally published by McClelland & Stewart in 1985.
There will be a slide show and a display of photos and archival documents, as well as Metis music, arts and crafts. There will also be refreshments: tea, cookies, bannock and buffalo meat.
