ALS fundraiser supports local woman

The “Sweet Dreams Gala” fundraiser is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14 at Cedar Hill Recreation Centre

When Lisa Ruffolo was diagnosed this summer with ALS – a progressive neuromuscular disease in which nerve cells die and leave voluntary muscles paralyzed – it didn’t take long for friends to formulate a plan.

They want to fulfill the local woman’s bucket list goal of visiting her husband’s family in Italy.

The resulting “Sweet Dreams Gala” fundraiser is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14 at Cedar Hill Recreation Centre.

Tickets are $20 and include a drink, live entertainment, dancing, silent auction and a dessert auction.

Call 250-598-6605 for ticket information.

Donations to the silent auction are also gratefully accepted.

Organizers have also started a crowd sourcing page at gofundme.com/7r59c73w online.
