When Lisa Ruffolo was diagnosed this summer with ALS – a progressive neuromuscular disease in which nerve cells die and leave voluntary muscles paralyzed – it didn’t take long for friends to formulate a plan.
They want to fulfill the local woman’s bucket list goal of visiting her husband’s family in Italy.
The resulting “Sweet Dreams Gala” fundraiser is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14 at Cedar Hill Recreation Centre.
Tickets are $20 and include a drink, live entertainment, dancing, silent auction and a dessert auction.
