Sult Pierogi Bar and Papa's Poutinerie, are set to close, prompting an outpouring of love online.
The Victoria restaurant serving customers nearly a decade, announced Feb. 12 will be its last day, with a social media post Feb. 6.
“The last few years have been very hard for the restaurant industry, and we have fought a great battle, but unfortunately there was no winning this one. We don't see this year being the year to save this industry,” the post reads.
The post prompted hundreds of reactions, responses and comments. Many thanked the team for phenomenal meals specifically mentioning roast beef Yorkshire pudding with pierogis and pierogi poutine.
Others suggested the eatery look at a move to the West Shore and some called on customers to have the eatery “go out with a bang”.
“We would love to see as many of you as we can before we close our doors forever. If you have gift cards, please use them,” the post reads. “Come say farewell with us.”
